Summer Activities
Golf, Golf, Golf

Disc Golf
Try something new! Mt. Bachelor offers disc golf starting late July. Bring your own discs or purchase some there at the Ski and Sport Shop.

Canoe and Cave Tours
Explore the glistening waters of the Cascade Lakes by canoe, as you take in amazing views of the snow capped Cascade Mountain Range. Hiking
The opportunities are endless! Cascade Lakes Highway provides an abundance of trails for all ages, or ride the chair lift at Mt. Bachelor and spend the day hiking on the mountain.
Fishing
Be mesmerized by the sparkling waters of the Cascade Lakes as you experience a fishing trip you will never forget! Expert fishing guides who posses a vast knowledge of the area will take you where the fish are biting. You may even catch the largest trout you have ever seen! Rock Climbing
Smith Rock State Park is internationally known as a premiere rock climbing area. There are over 1500 climbing routes in and around the park. There are also miles of hiking and mountain biking trails and the beauty of the park is magnified by the Crooked River, which created the winding canyons. Park admission fee required and dogs must be on a leash. Open daily, except holidays, the park closes at dusk. Located approximately 45 miles north of Sunriver Resort and just east of Terrebonne.

After a great day in Sunriver, cool off in the North or South swimming pool. As our guest you will have free access to both!

Snowshoe Tours
Enjoy the winter wonderland as a professional naturalist guide leads the way. For a unique experience, snowshoe by the light of the full moon or bask around the glow of the fire with a Bonfire on the snow trip.
Snow Mobiling
A perfect way to spend the day with friends, family, or any group! This will be an experience you will never forget. You may also choose a moonlight tour for a unique adventure.
Dog Sled Rides
Glide over the snow, as you take in the beautiful mountain scenery amongst an Iditarod Dog Sled. Owned and operated by Rachael a world-renowned athlete and Iditarod competitor.
Cave Tours
Discover the remote, hidden desert caves as a naturalist guide leads the way. Learn about the hidden underground world as your guide educates you about the history and what lives and grows in the caves. If you are adventurous this is the perfect trip for you! This tour is offered year around.

By Location
Mt. Bachelor
Explore North America’s 5th largest resort of 3,683 acres for skiing and snowboarding. With an average snowfall of 150-200 inches a year you will experience what skiing in the northwest is all about. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, the alpine terrain at Mt. Bachelor offers something for everyone complete with four terrain parks and an Olympic-sized super pipe. Cross country skiers will enjoy the Nordic Center that offers 56 kilometers of trails for all abilities. Guests of all ages will have a great time at the Snow blast Tubing Park. Relax, as you are towed up the hill on the tubing lift and then get ready for some serious fun!

The Deschutes River
Sunriver Nature Center and Observatory
Experience hands-on exhibits about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds that live in Central Oregon. Observe the closest star to our home planet--the Sun. View sunspots and solar prominences through special filters at the Observatory. Stroll through forest and marsh habitats on the Sam Osgood Nature Trail. Observe the resident bald eagles, listen for birds in the marsh, look for animal tracks, and see a dormant volcano.
Benham Falls
Guests of all ages will enjoy this 2.5-mile trail leading to a beautiful waterfall. For experienced mountain bikers, there is an additional trail that has challenging elevation changes. Both trails lead to the visitor’s area where you can spend a great day amongst the beautiful pine trees and Deschutes River.
High Desert Museum
Located 10 miles north of Sunriver on Highway 97, this museum offers something for everyone! Experience the high desert with wildlife, living history, and many indoor and outdoor exhibits.
Lava Cast Forest
Located minutes away from Sunriver, where you can observe castings of trees that were caught up in the lava flows from 6,000 years ago! Guests of all ages will enjoy exploring amongst the volcanic rock on the paved trail.
Lava Lands Visitor Center
Located 4 miles north of Sunriver on Highway 97, this is the interpretive hub for the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. Choose from 3 interpretive trails ranging from ¼ -1 mile long where you will explore the geology, volcano logy, and cultural history of Central Oregon. A naturalist is on duty to answer any questions you may have. Closed in the winter.
Newberry National Volcanic Monument
Located South of Sunriver, you will find the signs for the entrance off of Highway 97 before La Pine. On over 55,500 acres you will discover many unique attractions which include: cinder cones, pumice cones, lava flows, caves, 2 lakes, streams, waterfalls, and a lava cast forest. All of this created by eruptions spanning past half a million years ago! The lakes are a fisherman’s paradise, as you will find trophy-size brown and rainbow trout along with kokanee and atlantic salmon.
Cascade Lakes Highway
You may begin this journey from right here in Sunriver. This is an excellent day trip, as you need to allow at least 3-5 hours for this adventure. This breathtaking 87-mile loop takes you past Mt. Bachelor where you will discover numerous alpine lakes, spectacular panoramic mountain views, and endless opportunities for sightseeing. You can hike, bike, boat, swim, or simply relax amongst beautiful Mother Nature! Todd Lake is a smaller lake and has a nice trail that surrounds it. Sparks Lake offers excellent views complete with a beautiful green meadow. Elk and Cultus Lakes are the most popular for swimming and boating. Crane Prairie and Wickiup Reservoir offer excellent fishing. Road is closed during the winter.
Crater Lake National Park
Located approximately 105 miles south of Sunriver, this is a day trip definitely worth taking! The only national park in the state of Oregon, offers clear blue waters and a view you will never forget! Spend the day hiking, take a boat ride and discover the history of Wizard Island, or take in the amazing view from a rocking chair on the deck of the historic lodge.
